Jade was excellent listened to what I wanted and gave me a great cut. Salon is on third floor of the strand arcade which was a little tricky to find initially. Lovely clean salon.

I've been in Sydney for the past 2 years and haven't really had quite the experience as I did at Manipulate. From Paul's expertise to Bill's making conversation while washing my hair, everything clicked. I didn't quite catch the other staff's name, but she was listening to our conversation and her smile held a lot of warmth which made me feel comfortable as I knew I was not being judged based on what I was feeling/talking about. Paul guided me based on the photos I showed him and the concerns I had, and the final result was something I was pleased with. He also gave me super handy tips for my hair type as well as how to style it. 10/10, I found my new go-to for the next few years!

I had such a beautiful experience at Manipulate Hair Studio. From the moment you walk in, the environment feels cozy, calm, and genuinely relaxing. If you’re someone who prefers a quiet, soothing salon atmosphere, this is absolutely the place for you. Beyond the ambiance, every single person in the salon is warm, inviting, and clearly very experienced. I was looked after by Paul, and I truly say looked after because he makes you feel cared for from start to finish. We began with a consultation, and he really listened to every concern I had. I explained that I didn’t want bleach touching my hair and that I wanted my bangs a very specific thickness and style. Even though I probably didn’t explain it perfectly, he understood exactly what I meant without me needing to go into extreme detail. I also showed him a few inspiration pictures, which he welcomed. After the consult, everything flowed so smoothly. Paul explained what he was doing throughout the process and shared the vision he had for my hair, which made me feel confident and at ease. Pill, who was assisting Paul, was beyond kind and kept bringing me coffee, which, honestly, was just as good as the hair! Between the amazing communication, the relaxing hair wash that felt like a head massage (thank you, Pill!), and the overall service, I left the salon feeling absolutely gorgeous. Paul cut my hair, colour corrected it, gave me a balayage without bleach, toned it and gave me a blowout, all over about four hours. The time flew by thanks to great conversations, delicious coffee, and the peaceful atmosphere. I fully trusted Paul’s vision, and I couldn’t be happier with the result. Highly recommend!
