Anicca - the Float Club

I had a wonderful experience at the Annica float club. I had no idea what to expect and I was so surprised when this experience turned out to be a legitimate wellness experience. From the minute that I walked in and was greated by Dave, the energy was calm and positive. The introduction told me everything that I needed for a successful float. The place was clean, I loved the private shower next to the float tank module (note module NOT pod.) This is key because at no point did I feel claustrophobic rather, it felt like my own private little pool. Also, the door can be gently pushed open at anytime and you can get out for a towel or rinse at anytime. (I didn't have to, but I am a tad claustrophobic so this was comforting.) The float itself was amazing, especially after 5 minutes or so when I calmed down and got my head right. The water is a perfect temperature. Not hot nor cold. Initially, I thought that I would never be able to do this for a whole hour, but that was not the case. I drifted into a dream like state and my mind wandered and floated from sensation to thought, and away from life. Before I knew it the gentle strains of "It's a beautiful world, " brought me gently back to reality. I emerged feeling renewed and relaxed. I highly reccommend this experience for both anxiety and aches and pains, and I will be back. Tips: Wear the earplugs provided and put them in prior to your shower. Use the head float ring provided (so relaxing.) This is personal, but if it's your first float, keep the soft soothing light on. My husband found the dark a bit disorienting and felt dizzy. Don't get the float water in your eyes. It stings for a minute if you do. Oh yeah, the post float grooming area was perfect. Good lighting, mirrors, lotion and blow dryers. (You dress in the privacy of your float area and then emerge into the grooming area which is for both males and females, but it won't be crowded due to the overall size of the operation and thoughtful scheduling. ) The complimentary tea in the lounge after was a perfect touch. Really a great experience! Since the water is your body temperature, you cant really feel the water that is supporting you. This really allows you to escape form current thoughts. I just remembered thinking about past memories. Sometimes I felt as though i was breathing very shallow, like a hibernating bear, but I never felt out of breath. That Sisyphus table in the lobby had me totally transfixed. We will repeat.

Wow! Such a cool experience. I got a Groupon to see if I would like it and I would definitely go again! Such a unique experience. A whole hour is very long so definitely practice meditation or reflection before going! It was such a deep relaxation.

I have several chronic illnesses and floating is the only thing I've found that helps my pain. I come out feeling so relaxed, pain free, and with a lot less tension. The facility is very clean and comfortable. Can't recommend it enough, especially if you have muscle pain!

I had a fantastic experience at Anicca! From the moment I walked in, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome, and the employee did a great job explaining the entire process. They gave me plenty of time to wash up and prepare before my session. The float tank itself was amazing. It took me a little while to settle in and find my calm, but once I did, I felt completely at ease. It was a truly refreshing escape from my daily routine and stresses. I left feeling rejuvenated and can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for a perfect way to unwind, I highly recommend this place!
