I had an absolutely fantastic experience at Base Salon. I felt welcomed and taken care of. The staff is genuinely friendly and professional. Melissa always listens to what I want and offers suggestions that made the end result even better than I imagined. I love her creativity, skill and confidence. I wouldn’t trust my hair to anyone else and highly recommend Melissa! The absolute best salon in Chicago! I have seen both Melissa and Krysta and they are both incredibly amazing. They spend so much time making sure your hair turns out the exact way you want it. They also spent extra time with me making sure I had the perfect hair routine to make sure my hair was as healthy as it could be. I have never had a better experience at a salon. When I first started going my hair was brassy and damaged and within in a year of going there I have the exact color I want and my hair is healthier than it has been in a long time. Strongly recommend!

Base Salon and Krysta are the best! As a new mom, Krysta has been such a gift. She helped me refresh my hair during pregnancy and again postpartum. Both my summer cut/color and my transitional fall cut/color, all low-maintenance as my hair grows out (perfect for balancing life with a little one!). It was soo nice to feel refreshed - couldn’t recommend Krysta and the salon more!

I’ve been going to Melissa for several months now, and I highly, highly recommend her services! She gave me great color advice!!! I love my hair color now and get so many compliments. Melissa goes above and beyond, with nice scalp massages, delicious tea concoctions, and product recommendations. My hair has gotten noticeably healthier since I’ve being coming to Melissa. She’s the best!
