Customer Reviews for Beneath The Skin Tattoo

I have half-a-dozen tattoos on my arms, from small (~2 inches square above my elbow crease) to medium-large (~9”-by-6” on my bicep). I have never been more thrilled with ink than the work I got at Beneath the Skin. From first contacting the shop to setting up the consults, from finally getting the tattoo to a week and a half of even and steady healing, Beneath the Skin was genuinely the best experience I’ve ever had with a shop and artist. The customer service I received from every member of the team was excellent across the board. The studio is clean and tidy, but filled with the right energy and character for a modern tattoo parlor. The pricing for the shop’s services are so reasonable in any market, but the quality of my work was profoundly excellent for what I paid. Working with Olivia was exactly what every person who’s investing in ink is looking for - polite, engaging, kind, professional. And I’m still stunned every time I look down at my left arm and see this concept my 5-year-old son came up with, an image I saw in my mind, represented even more perfectly on my skin. It will always remind me of when my kid and I played Hot Wheels on the floor with our cats lazing around. What a gem of a studio, right here in Pottstown! Olivia is highly skilled, and I loved how shop owner Joe came by to check out the work and design, ensuring both his artist and customer were totally satisfied. Joe’s studio philosophy is to heal, empower, and transform lives - mission accomplished, as far as my work is concerned. I will be back. Photos: (1) just after tattoo completion; (2) a week and a half into healing.

If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Olivia was my artist and she absolutely nailed my tattoo I’ve wanted the last 3 years! She took her time and didn’t rush any aspect of the tattoo and it was the least painful of all my tattoos and the biggest one I’ve had done! Very reasonable pricing for her work and great quality!!

Alyssa is such an amazing Piercer. I got my Christina piercing about a month ago, and it was a smooth and painless experience. I didn’t encounter any rejections or complications. Thank you so much for your excellent service. I absolutely love my piercing!

I had my nipples pierced here and had the best experience. I was handled with care and compassion and felt super comfortable. I was given an aftercare sheet with any questions I could possibly have and also told to call if I ever need anything! I absolutely will return!! 5+ stars!

I’ve had about 10 tattoos done at Beneath the Skin Tattoo, and I wouldn’t trust my skin to anyone else. Joe is on another level—incredible talent, insane attention to detail, and genuinely cares about every piece he puts out. Every session feels dialed in, not rushed, and always exceeds expectations. The whole crew is solid. Everyone is welcoming, professional, and passionate about what they do. The shop is always clean with a great vibe. If you’re looking for a shop you’ll keep going back to again and again, this is it. Absolute top-tier experience every time.
