My son and I recently had the pleasure of visiting Bulls N Bears Parlor in New Orleans for a razor cut, clean up, and manicure. The establishment provides a wonderfully classic "cool vibe speakeasy" atmosphere, complete with antique decor, a hidden bookcase entrance, and complimentary adult beverages. Abby provided excellent service with the razor cut and waxing. I highly recommend Bulls and Bears Parlor and eagerly anticipate my next visit when I am in NOLA.

When I called, she immediately booked my appointment, and when I arrived, she greeted me promptly and got right to work. Now, I’ll preface this by saying I’m no stranger to hot towel shaves—but true straight-razor shaves are becoming rare these days. Abby is not only a pro, I was genuinely impressed to learn that she teaches the art of shaving. That alone spoke volumes, but the experience itself exceeded expectations. It felt less like a haircut and more like a spa day for men. The service was never rushed. Abby took her time, paid close attention to both my head and face, and demonstrated exceptional care throughout. One moment that really stood out was during the neck shave—she paused to ask if the area was feeling sensitive before going in for a second, closer pass. That level of awareness and respect for a client’s comfort is something many barbers overlook, and it made a big difference. What truly set her apart, though, was her attentiveness. She caught in conversation that I didn’t want to go into the new year looking or feeling unkempt. I see Troy, he has great attention to detail, but the whole team is great now. Abbey, the owner, is extremely nice and wants her customers to be blown away. Music and decor are creative/hip. If I was getting married tomorrow, I’d get my haircut here.

This place is top tier in every aspect. A true professional laid back atmosphere. The best haircut you will get as well as the best self care you can offer a man. Dont neglect yourself and give this place a shot. I highly recommend gipsy for all your needs, she is attentive, friendly and really has you leaving the shop a new man. Confident and comfortable.

I am a barber who’s worked in other shops & I’d just like to take time out to say this is the best barbershop in the city for both the clients & workers. The intimate vibe & antique chairs after you make it past secret bookshelf doors really just sets everything off. Smooth, calm music is always playing. I can’t express to people enough how much they need to come try out the shop. Every single person who comes in for the new experience admits that this was their best barbershop experience they’ve had and won’t be trying anywhere else. Abby, the owner, is always engaged & making sure every client is taken care of & feel cared about. Gary is a great barber with a lot of skill & everybody is talented in this shop. I could honestly say that you could hop in anybody’s chair & be satisfied. The range of services is wider than I’ve seen at any shop. Please give it a try whenever you can, for both men & women.
