As an introvert who's often overstimulated in Singapore I am sometimes hesitant to step into communal spaces, but I'd heard so many good things about Capybara that I thought I'd give it a try. It was a beautiful experience, and you can tell that the owners have put a lot of thought into the tiny details. The space is quite self-led, and there's so many thoughtful corners that offer special touches throughout the experience (look out for the salt scrub and the towels near the magnesium pool) accompanied by the intention behind that particular ritual, and often guided by tradition. The staff was really welcoming - friendly and approachable, and made me, a first-timer, feel safe. I lucked out by booking a Friday evening slot, where they introduce a traditional technique called aufguss (if I'm spelling it correctly) involving essential oils, crushed ice, and towel work in the sauna, and there's a short session every 30 minutes (check ahead if you don't want to miss it, so you know what time slot to book). I'd butcher it if I tried to describe the experience, but it's added a layer of thoughtfulness that I haven't otherwise experienced anywhere else. Facility wise, they have a hot lounge, regular lounge, steam room, sauna, magnesium pool (this was my absolute favourite) and a cold plunge. It's a phone free space, which was really refreshing, and I brought my Kindle in with me to read in the pool and lounge in between. Definitely give this a go especially if you're travelling and seeking a bit of a quiet reset before exploring the rest of the city - it provided me a much needed sanctuary. Thank you Capybara team 🤍 🤎

Had an amazing experience at Capybara Bathing House! The Aufguss session was unlike anything I've tried before — truly a refreshing and one-of-a-kind experience. The sound bath was incredibly relaxing and a perfect wind-down. The interiors are cosy and thoughtfully designed, making the whole atmosphere feel like a proper retreat. What really topped it off was the team — genuinely hospitable, warm, and attentive throughout. 10/10 would highly recommend to anyone looking for a unique wellness experience in Singapore!

I recently visited this bathhouse and really enjoyed the experience. The atmosphere was calm and relaxing, with warm-toned décor that created a cozy vibe. Even though I went on a busy weekend, it never felt too noisy. The wooden scent throughout the bathhouse was nice, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The only downside is the limited shower facilities, there’s just one private shower for women and one unisex option, while most showers are shared without partitions.

I took my husband here to celebrate his birthday and it was the most wonderful experience. The staff were very welcoming and helpful as it was our first time visiting. The atmosphere was so relaxing and clean. We booked the 2:15 pm session on a weekday so it wasn't busy, everyone was very respectful to each other. We felt rejuvenated after we left and it was money well spent. I cannot wait to go back for my birthday 😋
