Kalvin is dedicated to his craft and it shows in all of his work and even in the space he's curated around him. Dark Cloud Tattoos is a cozy maximalist art haven, and all staff are super chill and kind. I'm getting a full sleeve done and the process could not have been easier. Every step of the way has been explained to me so that I am confident in the design and the work thats being done, and I can't wait to get back there in December for the rest! Worth the wait, worth coming in from out of town, Worth the long hours of tattooing, 100%!

I have been going through Kalvin since 2019 & he is the best artist I have ever went to. He has done small tattoos, cover up & large pieces for me. Every single time I have been so happy with my results!! He is so kind, willing to work with you& a blast to talk to while you’re getting your ink. That being said I am so excited for my next piece from him coming up. I will never stop recommending him to all my friends and family. I also appreciate how dedicated he is to his work/art & you can see it with all he does. 🫶🏻 thank you Kalvin for all you’ve done for me and everyone that has crossed your path.

Khang is my go to artist. He's not only amazing with his art but makes getting a tattoo an overall great experience. He's great at making an idea truly come to life and he's one of the nicest people I've met. Highly recommend checking out his work and getting tatted with him.

From the moment I walked in just to talk to Kalvin about my tattoo idea, he instantly knew exactly what I was asking for. This man has perfected his craft, his art, and tattoo skills! You can definitely tell he loves what he does from the moment he greets you! The tattoo i wanted was a custom memorial piece for my son that passed away and he definitely delivered much much more than I could ever ask for. His color schemes and line work and just art is nothing less that perfect! If you want someone you can rely on to get the best tattoo in the state of iowa, definitely come get it done from Kalvin at Dark Cloud Tattoo! Updated 11/14/25** Went back to finish my half sleeve and mannnnnn Kalvin didnt disappoint with this design. Pure creative genius, hands down the best around! The works speaks for itself! Thank you so much Kalvin, this new addition is so beautiful it brought tears to me and my wifes eyes when I saw this.
