Skye has been cutting my son’s hair for over a year now. With him being biracial it hasn’t been easy to find someone that is skilled at cutting his hair type in this area. Skye is professional and well versed in her craft. She’s very personable with all her clients ensuring they enjoy the experience. I especially love how she relates to teens helping them understand the importance of taking care of their hair and taking pride in their appearance.

Skye is absolutely amazing!! My 10 year old son is very hard to please with haircuts and he’s obsessed with how she cut his hair. The best part is, momma is happy too. Not easy to please us both 🤣

Where do I begin? If you want the best haircut around, then stop scrolling and book with Skye! She is absolutely fantastic. My hubs has been going to her for a while and refuses to go to anyone else. He is VERY picky when it comes to his beard and she always does such a great job. Both of my kids also get their haircut by her and she does a PHENOMENAL job with them as well! She can work with all types of hair, is very honest and kind, and will give amazing advice/recommendations based on your hair type. She’s so patient with my 4 year old and gives both my boys an amazing stress free experience. They love going to get their haircut and always walk out of there feelin’ good. I recommend her and Good American Barber in general to all of our family and friends!

Good American Barber? The name is modest. GREAT American Barber sounds more appropriate!! This place is awesome! Good American Barber is located in the heart of downtown Grayslake. When you walk in, your first impression is a good one. It is located in a beautifully restored old building (circa 1904) with lots of brick and exposed beams. Maira is the owner, and she has created a unique one-of-a-kind experience that you can't get at a national chain. She has surrounded herself with good people. To that point, yesterday, (Friday November 28th) I had a nice conversation with Skye and Doug while Doug cut my hair. The cut was perfect. Prices are very reasonable. If you are in the area, I highly recommend Good American Barber.

Love coming here. The shop is very clan and barbers are incredibly kind and easy going. Great conversation while getting my cuts. Skye is my girl to go see, highly recommended anyone in the area who hasn’t been there definitely go, you will not be disappointed. Skye is the absolute best. She takes her time and is very good at her craft.
