I’m a local artist here in RI, been around for a lon time… and when I tell you that John is basically a legend at this point … take my word for it… the most trusted man in the state with a piercing needle… there’s a reason why everyone goes to him and his shop is always filled with people.. he’s clean, quick, the dopest energy and makes your visit comfortable and worth the jump. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else.

John at Hold Steady Tattoo is amazing. He is super cool and very easy to talk to! I had nipple piercings done with him and he did a great job at making me feel comfortable. Prices are also very fair! Would highly recommend him for any piercings.

Last night my nose piercing fell out and in that short time began to heal, I was so sad about it because I’ve only had it for a little less than a year. Fortunately, John was more than happy to help me out in not only reopening the piercing but also explaining why it was so difficult for me to try it myself. After adjusting the bar of the jewelry (bending it from a right nostril to left nostril piece, which I didn’t even know was a thing) we were able to get the jewelry back in place with no further issues! Based on other reviews, I can’t recommend a place more based on cleanliness, proper education, and overall help!

john is absolutely amazing and specializes in piercings which really makes him stand out from other shops. i’ve gotten piercings done at several other places before and they weren’t totally botched but i’ve noticed that a lot of piercers are primarily tattoo artists so you could easily be getting pierced with incorrect jewelry, have uneven placement, etc. it should be noted that he is so good at what he does that i continue to go back even after he makes fun of my crocs. the atmosphere of this place is so welcoming and diverse; i’ve seen whole families go in for services and they all leave happy. i also got a wrap-around arm tattoo from chad and it turned out absolutely beautiful. he is such a big sweetheart and i’ll certainly be getting more work done soon!

My 13-year-old was set on getting a nose piercing although I was hesitant after going to Hold Steady Tattoo and meeting John the piercer I was totally at ease. He took his time to explain in detail about the piercing and most importantly the aftercare for the piercing. Extremely professional and upfront open to any questions and even when my daughter thought she was so tough and went to stand up and almost passed out he was right there by her side. Gave her a lollipop to make sure that she could relax and get her blood pressure down before sending us on our way. Shop is very clean and staff are very professional. Even gave us his business card and said if we had any issues even if it was his day off to just give him a call that he would be happy to assist. Highly recommended.
