As an Asian girly with stubbornly dark hair, it is extremely hard finding a hair stylist that knows how to lift it and tone it for that perfect blonde. I've had a pretty traumatic experience with bleaching professionally in the past. Even with previous stylists doing their best, I remember coming out of four different appointments discouraged and insecure about my fried hair that had turned an ugly green and gray color. It was almost as if my hair gave up. Since then, I vowed to never touch or dye my hair EVER again until I came across Haley at Kenna Kunijo. After seeing just how meticulous she was at my first couple haircut appointments, I decided to take a leap of faith and try a balayage for the first time. Naturally, given my previous experiences, I was very hesitant but MS. HALEY DID NOT DISAPPOINT! SHE DID THE FREAKING THING. And don't even get me started on her shampooing because I'm pretty sure I had an out of body experience when she started massaging my temples. Even now that it has been a few months, my hair does not feel dry or brittle at all. I honestly feel like a whole new woman. Pictures don't do justice. This isn't just your average hair salon. It is a high quality boutique that is centered around a fully personalized experience with no upsells on products. If you're expecting the lowest price, this may not be the right fit for you. However, if you've been searching for highly skilled stylists who won't cut corners, are transparent with pricing, and are committed to mastering new trendy techniques and tricks, things they don't always teach you in cosmetology school, this is the spot. They may cost an arm and a leg especially in this economy, but ladies, looking good is an investment and feeling good is priceless. Thank you Haley and Kenna Kunijo!

OK…SO FIRST thought is OMG I JUST LEFT THE HAPPIEST PLACE ON EARTH!!! KENNA herself is a true GEM!! The attention to detail in the space and staff to ensure it’s curated as a one stop shop that’s welcoming to EVERYONE is so beautiful to experience! As a Mom on the go it’s hard to find time to do anything for ourselves. Let alone fit in 8 different things like hair, facial, tox, lashes etc. Being able to spend a few hrs in ONE space to get it ALL done is a dream come true!! From my LIFE changing facial with Saskia (the BEST I’ve EVER had in my ENTIRE LIFE) to the most intentional and loving care put into my CURLS by Tu!!! To the giggles and great vibes with my lip flip with Sareena!! YOU LADIES are INCREDIBLE!!!! (Emphasis on the caps because WHAT?! Just WOW!) Saskia gave me a facial that was more than just products and made sure I left glowing. She applied such precision and pressure to my face that my double chin disappeared. 😱 (I’m actually not kidding!) The lymphatic drainage that happened and the puffiness that disappeared from my face was actually unreal! Tu did my hair and as a curly girl who’s had hair trauma in the past it’s been hard to trust just anyone to cut and style my natural hair. SHE is MAGICAL!! She talked me through my hair goals prior to getting started. Gave me a much needed cut and then washed my hair and massaged my scalp as if I were Beyonce herself! She then took her time and wrapped every single coil on my head in high quality products that left my hair looking the best I’ve seen it in YEARS!!! After 3 years in Charlotte I’m over the moon to know I’ve FINALLY found an incredible stylist!!! THANK YOU so sooooo much for an OUTSTANDING day and BEST salon, Mommy me time experience!! You’re all amazing!!! 💕💕💕 Pics are when I was on my way there VS when I left!! My face says it ALL!! BOOK NOWWW!!! 🫶🏽✨

Kenna Kunijo is hands down the best hair salon experience I’ve ever had. From the moment you walk in, you feel taken care of, welcomed, and in the best hands possible. Every single person who has touched my hair has done an absolutely amazing job — the level of talent across the entire team is unreal. Whether it’s color, styling, blowouts, or overall hair health, they truly listen to what you want and execute it perfectly every time. I always leave feeling confident, refreshed, and obsessed with my hair. Not only is the work top-tier, but the energy and professionalism of the salon make it such a great experience from start to finish. If you’re looking for a salon where you can trust anyone in the chair to deliver incredible results, Kenna Kunijo is the place. Highly, highly recommend!

First time going to Kenna Kunijo and I don’t need to go anywhere else as long as I’m in Charlotte. It’s beautiful, clean and everyone was friendly and welcoming. The shampoo and conditioning comes with a head massage and a hot towel wrap and Diana worked absolute wonders on my hair. She explained everything clearly and gave her recommendations for what not only looks the best but is best for my hair’s health. I’m so happy with the result it looks great and feels so healthy. Could not recommend more.

I cannot say enough good things about going to Haley at Kenna Kunijo! I have never had a consistent hair stylist that I loved and now I cannot imagine going to anyone else. I'm sure she has hundreds of clients, yet I always feel like I am unique and treated with care. Every cut feels personalized and thoughtful, never rushed. I always leave feeling confident and happy with my hair. 10/10 would recommend!
