Aloha, I visited Kauai for the first time in November 2024 and was looking to get a tattoo. I heard about Kulture Tattoo from my niece, who had gotten tattooed by Samuel another artist at the shop, Samuel set me up to meet Thad, he was very open to adding in some details in my tattoo of my turtle. I'm extremely happy with how it turned out, I visited again this December 2025 and scheduled two more tattoos one of a butterfly the other of a whales tail with some extra details and again Thad out did himself. I'm extremely satisfied with the outcome. I definitely will be back again next year! Thanks again, Thad, Mahalo, David

As soon as I walked into Kulture Tattoo, I knew I was in good hands. Sam's knowledge of tattoos and island culture is extremely impressive. We spent almost an hour discussing the design I wanted. The shop is clean and the walls are covered with artwork. Not at all a bad place to be for 4 hours while getting worked on. Sam did all he could to make me comfortable which was very appreciated cuz I was definitely struggling toward the end lol. If you come to Kauai, you need to make sure to make an appointment with Sam and get not only some incredible ink but also a great experience. I will definitely be back for more work in the future.

My family and I got tattood by Kalin and he was amazing. Easy to communicate with, straight forward and to the point but also extremely friendly and accommodating. Every single one of us is obsessed with the work he did. He made it so easy and anlwent beyond our expectations. Especially for my mom who got her first tattoo by him - she was super comfortable and absolutely loved what he did for her. 10/10 thank you Kalin!! Thad was also there and tattood my father in law and he was so great as well, he was super friendly, did amazing work and was just all around a really great guy!

Thad is awesome! My wife and I are so glad she got in contact with him. He is a great artist. Let's start at that. It just gets better and better from there. He's a great person, picks great movies, has great conversations, and you leave with a great tattoo. My wife and I go to Kauai yearly so Thad is going to be a yearly stop. We suggest getting an appointment set up early. He was more than accommodating for us even though we weren't as early as we should have been, but next year we will make our appointment way earlier. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is. The shop is great and Thad, you are a great person. We look forward to a long relationship with you as you add to your artwork each year. Mahalo!!!

I commissioned Thad Nakao, an artist affiliated with Kulture Tattoo Kollective, to create a personalized birthday tattoo for me. After conducting research on tattoo artists in Kaua’i and considering his recommendations, I reached out to him. As a resident of Washington State, his detailed instructions proved to be exceptionally beneficial. His level of communication facilitated the entire process, ensuring its manageability and clarity. His design, workmanship, and artistry were exceptional. The honu with the tree of life at its center holds a profound significance for me. I am immensely satisfied with the outcome and highly recommend Thad Nakao’s services.
