Rex is just the best colorist! I went to him for years (probably 5+), then I moved away and my hair honestly went downhill. I just moved back and had him do my color again. My hair was looking rough, and I hadn’t really colored it since being away. He gave me all over highlights and absolutely nailed it! True perfection, he hits the mark every single time. Highly recommend!

Lorena always does fabulous work and today was no exception . My 13 year old asked for highlights. It’s her first time doing anything to her hair besides a cut. Needless to say Lorena didn’t disappoint! My teenage daughter came out with a big smile. If you have a teenage daughter you know how hard it can be to make them happy!

Kinda upset. Was quoted $230 for full highlight when booking online. Was charged $365 when I walked out door. No price changes were discussed or mentioned throughout my appointment. After a quick consult, we decided to just do a partial highlight and I guess a balayage to achieve the color highlight I wanted? — I wish I paid more attention to the hair plan since seeing the price increase. Perhaps it is my fault for not asking if the price would change when making a plan for the day. Finally, I still had purple toner around my hairline and forehead when walking out the door. I mentioned this to my stylist, and I guess it will wash out with time. She did offer to take it out, but I really didn’t have the time to wait around. I also received a blow dry with no styling— not sure what that cost in the end. Just kinda frazzled by the markup upon leaving. Everyone was nice, and I was satisfied with my coloring overall. Kinda annoyed by the purple hair edges. Will be asking for an itemized receipt next time and more price clarity. Update: I did get the receipt. I did receive a glaze ($50) and the blow-dry ($55). Everyone was very professional and helpful. I do wish these prices were discussed during the appointment. I would have forgone the glaze had I known the cost. Overall, I am still satisfied with services and will increase my rating. My general feedback is to improve price clarity for customers.

Always a pleasure to visit Maxine Salon, from the friendly greetings in the reception area to the actual services, start to finish. I've been coming here for so long that I cannot compare it to other salons. But the professionalism and expertise at Maxine is top-notch. You can tell that each employee has benefitted from hands-on training and apprenticeships, which gives me confidence in all of the services I receive there. Amy has been my go-to person for haircuts for a couple of decades and she always manages to give me something new and fresh that I love. She has her finger on the industry's pulse and has never steered me wrong. Lorena is a fantastic and creative colorist with loads of expertise and experience, as well as good taste and judgment. I would not trust my hair to any other salon.
