Customer Reviews for Mayhem Ink Tattoo

Was really nervous about getting my first tattoo. Came into the shop for a quick consultation and got booked in the next day. Wanting to do something different but meaningful, so I decided to add in my travel to my arm. Joey did an awesome job and recreating it from my passport and really made sure that I felt comfortable when in the chair getting my first tattoo.

My experience was dope in every way, Craig checked all the boxes: "Where's Waldo" shirt, adaptive shading ability, a large body of layering work to instill confidence, a gift at extreme realism, and the ability to use color to highlight dark concepts without overpowering or changing the design. I was concerned he wouldnt be able to redraw what he needed for my conflagration of ideas, but I worried for nothing. If you go to his place, don't worry about that. Just book the appointment for three hours and show up with a good idea (send and explain in advance so they're not scrambling to accommodate). They will have you sorted out in under an hour, free of charge before charging you for the actual tattoo. I was shocked that there were zero surprises other than perfect follow through by Craig and by Mayhem. Most importantly, Craig was patient with design details, sizing and placement and followed through with a steady hand and patient disposition. Craig is the old school gem that every place needs (the kind who could pull off a masterpiece--hungover with a broken arm if he had to). He helped me remember how getting a tattoo can be such a rewarding, cool experience. What a great honor to be tattooed by such a morose (kidding! He's just old school) funny, gentle soul with great skill from the old school still crushing it in modern times without even having to wake up all the way. Cool dude, cool place, couldnt be happier with my discovery, Craig accommodated as many special requests as I was willing to make with a straight face and the shop in general pulled off a "welcoming" vibe for a very diverse clientele. Craig was able to incorporate what he could and gently explain where we had to "draw the line" with ideas that may be too much (this is where shops and their artists can sometimes come off as "snoody") I've been to a lot of shops that lack in interpersonal skills in similar scenarios, but Maybem seems unique in this regard with enough talent on site to set the standard high in order to achieve customer satisfaction. This, Mayhem does effortlessly. Many shops cannot and end up coming off as "snoody" or unagreeable when really they're just trying to keep people's expectations realistic). This is usually unavoidable without an emotional response from the client, but somehow, Mayhem is diverse enough to impress me with their ability. to accommodate and set a tone of comfort for all. Not an easy thing... The banter and good fun was tremendous as well. This tattoo had a sad subject matter and a less capable staff would have bummed me out or not known what to say to keep the tone right. Point: Staff is cool as hell; Craig worked quietly and seemed to enjoy being left to concentrate on his work for the most part, but also humored me with some good laughs and stories/common interests. A good artist understands when this is appropriate and for me, this part of the job never goes unnoticed. People have to be so annoying to these artists, in general. Nice work, brother! Absolutely, pisser tattoo. This balance of talent and personality is one only achieved by a true master. I'm honored to have this important tattoo done by the Great Craig. Not to even mention the incredible price point and his ability to do this in under two hours. Look at this tattoo! Two freaking hours is UNREAL for a tattoo of this caliber. Three smoke breaks too! Haha! So stoked! Two hours? Freaking crazy, brother. Final thought: The other artists are very lucky to have this OG around as a mentor and reminder of what it means to be on the level. And I know he's not the only OG on site; I'm just saying: NH and Mayhem are very blessed to have this guy as a New England native and regular artist on site. Craig could thrive in any shop on Earth and he knows it without coming off like he does. Now, you know it too, so go see him and check out the other talent as well. Love Mayhem...sorry for the novel but you blew me away. You got a referral for life and I will be back!

I had a tattoo planned for a while to always remind me of my mother. My mother almost passed away this summer, and I realized I didn’t have much more time to get it done so she can see it. I made an appointment with Nikki and she did exactly what I wanted and it looks amazing! The colors just pop my mother cried when she saw it

I now have three tattoos from this shop and I will continue to come to Mayhem to get more. Niki in particular is an amazing artist, if you want a traditional style tattoo definitely go to her! At no point during my last tattoo did I feel uncomfortable despite literally being topless on the table. I have never been unhappy when I walk out of mayhem ink. They will my go to shop from now on

Went in for my daughter to get her first tattoo and inquire about one for me. We were walk ins so wasn't expecting to be able to get mine same day. Craig did a great job on both mine and my daughters. All the artists that i met were nice and did great work. Will definitely go back for more. Prices were also great for the amount of time and detail. Highly recommend this shop.
