I have been going to Melfri's Dominican Beauty Salon for several years. I have always been pleased with the service; however, what has prompted me to write this review now, is my healthy head of natural hair. I am amazed and wanted to share my journey from 40years of relaxers to 100% natural. For years, Melfri would advise me that I should stop relaxing my hair. My hair was thinning, falling out and in and out of a damaged state. I would cry and explain that she does understand my type of hair as I have a very tight curl and I consider it kinky. Without a relaxer, I didn't even think that I could comb it. Well Oct 2022 was my last touchup. That November I traveled to Africa and decided for the first time in 40yrs I would try braids. I fell in love with them and that was the start of my natural hair journey. Since November 2022 I wear braids for 6 months and my natural hair for 6 months. The transition took 2 years for me to be fully natural. For the first couple of years, I did a Keratin treatment. As of November 2025, my hair is 100% natural with no Keratin. The pics are the before the remaning relaxer was cut out and after, my last hair app't a week ago. Melfri, I can't thank you enough. I would have never imagined that my natural hair could look like this. I appreciate you and your staff. All of the stylist here are truly talented and strive for clients to have healthy hair. Ladies, if you are considering the transition, trust Melfri, be patient and trust the journey. I am so grateful that I finally did!

Amazing! I have never came to a Dominican hair salon before. Only have done silk presses and wanted to try out a Dominican blow out. my hair is natural,& very thick. Absolute amazing experience! I will never go to another hair salon again . They literally make you feel comfortable greeting you with smiling faces as soon as you walk through the door. My ends were pretty ate up , LIZZY took great care of me and explained everything step by step, her recommendations. I’ve notice that there is also nearby Dominican beauty salons. They had the highest star and best reviews. I wanted a salon where the healthiness of my hair would be a priority VS just getting it straight. Here is absolutely that. Even the shampoo experience was awesome!! They take their time, & treat you like family also! I’m IMPRESSED. My forever salon. FINALLYYYY. ( Walk in friendly) a PLUS. I can’t wait to go back! Now this is luxury. Pricing amazing also; they are Way less than the typical hair salons , that rush you and take appointments only.

I was greeted very warmly by everyone there in the salon. I walked in and was attended to right away. They were very reasonable and transparent with pricing and Lissy was so kind, personable, and informative. This was the best experience I’ve ever had at a hair salon. 100/10. I recommend for everyone to get your hair done here!
