We had an incredible experience at Obsidian Tattoos in Bel Air. Tate, the owner and tattoo artist, did my son’s tattoo and he was absolutely amazing from start to finish. He was kind, patient, professional, and made the entire experience comfortable and enjoyable. The artwork he created is beyond beautiful — truly talented and detailed work. You can tell he takes great pride in what he does, and it shows in every line. The shop itself is just as impressive. It’s clean, welcoming, and the artwork displayed on the walls, all done by the artists, makes the space feel like a gallery. If you’re looking for a tattoo artist who genuinely cares about his clients and delivers stunning work, I highly recommend Tate at Obsidian Tattoos. We couldn’t be happier with the experience or the final result. Thank you Tate!

I’ve gone to Tate twice now for tattoos and love his work! He’s a great artist and easy to communicate with about what I wanted. He’s easy going so if you need a break or something just let him know, he also asks if you need a break or if you’re good through out the tattoo. Highly recommend checking his work out!

Today I was tattooed by Tate. He is a phenomenal artist. He made me feel so comfortable. His work is amazing. I can't recommend this shop enough. The staff is so friendly. I will definitely keep my business here.

My mom and I had an absolutely amazing experience in December with Julia! I let her know why the date of the 28th was so important and she made it happen. Once there, I found out she came in on her day off for us! She spent a lot of time with us getting the design exactly how we wanted it. It’s even more beautiful than the inspo pic we provided. Her line work and shading are excellent! We had a blast with her that day. Doing this turned the traumatic memory of the 28th into a positive one that I’ll always remember. Julia has a lighter hand which was refreshing! It made the tattoo a breeze for us. The shop is so clean and spacious! Everyone was so nice and welcoming. We will absolutely be returning to the shop in the future! I’m so glad I discovered this place and recommend it to anyone wanting tattoos. Thanks so much, Julia!

Catrina is AMAZING! Seriously! I was a one hole in each ear kind of gal, but she makes me feel so adventurous! I can’t thank her enough for convincing me a septum would look cute because she was 1000% right! She’s also incredibly honest and not just put to make a quick buck. I was interested in getting my belly button replaced because the first time I had it done it started growing into my skin and I had a horrible experience (got it done when I was 18 at senior week in OCMD 0/10 don’t recommend) and the piercer that did it, not only did it wrong but didn’t talk to me about after care or anything! After about 13 years of having it out (damn am I really that old? Ew.) and losing 110 pounds I was wanting to have it re-pierced, Catrina looked over the area and instead of just punching a hole in me and taking my money, explained to me that unfortunately the reason it had grown into my skin originally was because of my anatomy and the way it was shaped and the incorrect way it was done. She explained that there were alternate ways to pierce it but even then because of the scar tissue it wouldn’t look the way I was wanting it to. I’m not upset at all with not being able to have it done, I’m super grateful that instead of taking my money and giving me whatever I was asking for, she took her time to educate me and to suggest alternatives. We ended up doing a chest dermal instead and I loved it! Didn’t hurt at all, and I fear I may be addicted now. Catrina if you’re reading this, I’ll see you soon for another piercing boo!!! Tate, if you’re reading this she is an amazing addition to the shop!!!
