The owner is an amazing artist, has a beautiful black poodle, and does quality work in very little time. He’s not heavy handed at all and very clean. He was welcoming and had good conversation during the time I was there. This tattoo healed faster than any other tattoo I have and I have over 30! I took a bunch of photos of the shop and my friends tattoo as well. Thank you so much for my forever Maui souvenir!

Had the honor and privilege of returning to Octopus Ink on our second visit to Maui! We ended our trip again by visiting Jim (you don’t want to get in saltwater after you get a tattoo). Me and my husband once again received some amazing original art🤙❤️. The color tattoo of the hibiscus flowers is actually a cover-up - check out the original photos! We are so thrilled and cannot wait to visit and come back and maybe even buy a condo or house from his wife! If you go to Maui and want some ink, you can trust that if you go here, Jim will treat you like family and you will have a treasure that will give you reminders of Maui the rest of your life! The first time we went (also photos attached) we went and met Jim and his awesome wife, we had to wear masks and signed waivers, and he was just so cool through all of it. He got to know us so well that he and his wife gave us some free merchandise after he found out about my son Kyle passing away in 2016. Jim is extremely easy to work with and even tolerates my rambling texts when communicating. Thank you again, Jim for being the highlight of our trip and the icing on the cake on the last day! It made that long flight actually kind of fun - I couldn’t quit looking at it!

I had an amazing experience at Octopus Ink Tattoo Shop. Jim is the owner and sole artist, and you can really tell how much pride he takes in his work. From start to finish, the experience was top-notch. The tattoo came out exactly how I envisioned it. He absolutely nailed the design and execution. Jim really listens, and his ability to translate an idea into a clean, solid tattoo is impressive. The shop itself is super clean, welcoming and comfortable, with a great mix of music that set the tone perfectly. On top of that, he’s light-handed, which made the whole session smooth and easy. We had great conversation the entire time, which made it feel relaxed and personal rather than rushed. If you’re looking for quality work, a great vibe, and an artist who genuinely cares about getting it right, this is the spot. I wouldn’t hesitate to go back and would recommend Jim to anyone getting tattooed on Maui.
