Great experience coming here ever since a friend from college recommended. I’ve tried to find other barbers that closely resemble (since I moved to UES) but gladly go out of my way to come here. Recommend Nelson who’s cut mine the last 3x — Thanks Nelson! Fred is also a great guy and has been there for a long time.

Old Tyme Barber Shop is an absolute gem—one of those rare places where exceptional skill meets genuine care. From the moment you walk in, you feel welcomed, looked after, and treated like a valued regular. The barbers here are true professionals: precise, meticulous, and incredibly attentive to what you want. They take their time, never rush, and deliver consistently outstanding cuts that look sharp long after you leave the chair. The atmosphere is warm and classic without feeling forced—clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. It’s the kind of place where conversation comes easily, but if you just want to sit back and relax, they read that, too. You can tell they take pride not only in their craft but also in the community they’re building. It’s rare these days to find a barbershop that hits every mark—quality, service, vibe, and value—but Old Tyme Barber Shop truly does. I’m grateful to have found it, and I honestly can’t imagine going anywhere else. Highly, wholeheartedly recommended.

I found this barber shop a couple years ago and had the honor of working with Fred for my first haircut at this establishment. Fred is an amazing individual that truly understands his craft and I can only speak highly of his work. The shop is welcoming, pleasant, and every barber works with their client to find the best style for them. While I've never had my hair done by Eric, he is a cordial and polite individual that helps establish the relaxing nature of the shop. As long as I am in NYC, I will continue coming here. Pricing is fair for midtown Manhattan and you are truly working with expert barbers.
