This was the first time I visited with my children. This place is walk-in only. We came early on a weekday morning, and there was no wait. There were three stylists working. They were able to get my kids' cuts done in about 20 minutes! This was great, since I have four kids! The prices were very reasonable. The boys' cuts were perfect. This is now our go-to place for hair cuts.

I liked this place. Wasn't the best barber shop I've been to but its a pretty good one. I've only been in this state for a yr exactly so everything is completely different. They did it different than what I wanted bc of misunderstanding but the way they did it I still liked it and they did a very good job on all my boys and I'm definitely going to be coming back and there pricing is okay. I think it's a little higher than where I normally take them back home. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The place is big and clean. I had a great experience and I'm happy I went to this shop.

I’ve been looking for a hairstylist for my son for months and months. My son is autistic and Non-verbal. He struggles to sit still and doesnt like the buzzing of the clippers. I have had to try to trim it myself bc experience of going to the hair salon has been nothing short of total disaster‘s. With that being said I pulled up at Plaza Barber Shoppe and instantly when we walked in I saw guys of all ages, little boys, elementary aged, adults, teens, etc. Bridget is the angel that did my son’s hair and she did AMAZING!!!!! So patient, kind, talented, professional and comfortable and so much more! I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! If you have a special needs child or anyone who wants to go and have a professional/personal hairstylist work her magic on them…. Go see Bridget at Plaza Barber Shoppe! No appointments are taken. Walk ins only! Thank me later!

Plaza Barber Shop in Forest City, North Carolina is the kind of place that reminds you why old‑school barbershops will always matter. The moment you step inside, you can feel the history in the walls—decades of stories, laughter, and good Southern conversation wrapped up in that classic barbershop charm. It’s the kind of spot that’s been serving the community for years, and you can tell they take real pride in what they do. This was my very first time getting my beard trimmed, and I’ll be honest—I was a little nervous walking in. But the second I sat down, Kim made me feel right at home, like I’d been a regular for years. She took her time with everything: the beard trim, the haircut, and even the mustache trim. Every detail was done with care, skill, and that warm Southern hospitality you just can’t fake. She explained what she was doing, checked in to make sure I was comfortable, and treated me with the kind of respect and friendliness that keeps folks coming back. The atmosphere is exactly what you want in a true barbershop—vintage chairs, the steady buzz of clippers, the smell of aftershave, and that easygoing vibe where everyone feels welcome. It’s a place where you can sit back, relax, and know you’re in good hands. There’s something special about a shop that holds onto tradition while still making newcomers feel like family. By the time I walked out, I felt cleaned up, confident, and grateful I chose Plaza Barber Shop for my first beard experience. Kim did an outstanding job, and the whole shop carries that timeless Southern spirit that’s getting harder to find these days. If you’re looking for a place with history, heart, and top‑notch service, this is it. I’ll definitely be back.
