Just thought I’d share our experience… We took my (almost 2 year old) son to get a haircut at Cookie Cutters Haircuts for Kids - Lakewood, Co in the beginning of December and, to say the least it was not good! We were put on the clock for only a 15 minute time slot, with no time to make him feel comfortable in a new environment with a stranger. My son was freaked out and did not want to be there. The lady who cut his hair barely introduced herself. She was not rough, but was pretty demanding for him to hold his head in a certain way. The environment was all meant to be kid friendly, with car styled chairs and tvs for favorite shows to be played as a distraction. This was used as the first resort (rather than making him feel comfortable) and it felt VERY overstimulating and rushed. We had a COMPLETELY opposite experience at Rose’s Clips on Alemeda and Sheridan! My son watched others (including his dad) get their hair cuts first, giving him time to feel comfortable in a new place. Rose let my son sit in his dad‘s lap, she worked with wherever he turned his head (not demanding him to hold his head a certain way), started with scissors then worked her way to clippers, interacted with him, and was oh so patient (no 15 minute time slot). He sat quietly and comfortably the Entire time! He was not overwhelmed or overstimulated and was happy to take his turn! I couldn’t be more grateful for Rose turning a horrible experience into a really great one! We will be returning again and again, and highly recommend for all haircuts, but especially the Little ones!
