I will update with images when I have time, but I really wanted to share my experience working with this shop. On short notice they were able to fit me in. I belive the woman's name is Dee who braided my hair. I shared a concept image of what I wanted but the image only showed the back of the style (which at the time was the most important to me). Dee got to work plaiting my hair. Once the back was complete she asked if I had an image for the front & I didnt, and I couldnt find one in quick enough timeframe, so we decided to freestyle it. Dee completed the freestyle but I wasn't feeling it and most importantly, the tension on my temple was just too painful. I reluctantly asked Dee to please remove her hard work from the front of my hair. After some back and forth Dee agreed. I completely understood her disappointment and frustration and I apologized for having to extend my time in her chair, but I didn't feel there was a better option. In the end, Dee gave me a beautiful set of simple cornrows that I love & I made sure to compensate Dee for her time & talent. The most important take away from all of this is to ensure we are receiving the service we want when we ask for it so we're not waisting people's time. On the off chance there is an error in judgment, be prepared to not just acknowledge the error, but to provide something that properly compensates the service worker for the inconvenience + their time & talent. I love the final product and I received so many compliments on my hair, I know my braided did a wonderful job.
