I have been going here for a few years since my move to Evanston and have been over the moon. One thing I always pay attention to is how the staff treats one another, (I should know her name!) but from the lovely receptionist to the hair stylists to everyone in between, the staff is friendly with one another and interact in a very fun and relaxed way. I saw a man who cut my hair at first and he was beyond educated about hair styles and forms. Then I started about 2-3 years ago getting my hair colored with Mera who is a doll, a little bean of my light. She helped me understand what kind of hair I have, suggested brushes (not to sell to me, but genuinely explained what worked for my hair), taught me how to properly shampoo and condition, asked me how I wear my hair up when doing highlights, asked me how much little undertones or face framing I needed, even when I was stumbling and unsure of how to communicate my desired results. Mera does an incredible job of making me feel like she’s really trying to help me. Just today I messaged the instagram page asking if I should go red-ish, and their reply was transparent, helpful, educational and left me with a choice without making me feel corned, yet informed. This isn’t just an in-out salon where they want to quickly book & move on, they treat each client with such care and delicacy and really make me feel like I’m being taken care of. The prices are reasonable (I went to get a hair cut at a hole in the wall that was more than this salon and twice as terrible or a job.) I feel like they Papageorge cares about their customers hair health versus just a result and does an amazing job explaining each. There are so few places that go out of the way to make a client feel so happy and at ease — once my phone died and I showed up extremely late and they were very nice and accommodating. I’m so lucky to have found them in Evanston & the space inside feels lux, clean, open, and makes a hair appointment that may feel long, go by quickly. They truly deserve all the attention and love for serving the community and operating as a passionate business versus just in and outs.

I have been coming to Steven Papageorge Salon for years and now I’m happy to say that they’ve done my hair and my bridal party’s hair for my wedding! We had hair trials and they took into account my wedding dress, my hair type and my vision to ultimately help me create a look that I’d love (this includes pre wedding day prep like hair coloring, hair cuts, etc.) I’m so happy with how it turned out!!! ❤️ oh and my bridal party looked absolutely amazing too! I would definitely recommend checking them out for your wedding hair!

I am OBSESSED with my hair!!! Ming is an expert in color and technique. I showed her a few pics of what I wanted, and not only did she match the look, she exceeded my expectations! Meera also gave me a gorgeous cut and style. This was my first time in this salon, and I will definitely be returning.
