Every artist there does amazing work! Everyone is super friendly and professional. I got an sick peice by Tucker. I can't wait to get more from him. Definitely one the best artist in east Tennessee. I REALLY wish I got a before picture cause this tattoo is covered a HUGE scar. About 5in long and 2in thick. Literally cant tell where it was now.

So I've had the pleasure and the privilege of being tattooed multiple times at Studio 617, all 5 sessions with Undead, but one day I do hope to experience some of the other phenomenal artists here, but if you are looking for artistry, talent, and one of the most interpersonal experiences, I suggest this shop. They have a cacophony of personalities, while inherently different from each other, that blend together to allow them to unify and push themselves to the next level using each other as a catalyst for growth and evolution. This is one of the things that elevates their artistry to a whole new level. I've been tattooed at multiple shops around East Tennessee, and now the only shop I suggest is Studio 617. (Even though Undead made me listen to Taylor Swift)

Hands, ( and legs) down, this is the BEST Tattoo Studio I have ever been to. Mikey Newblood was the Bomb! The colors and design was exactly what I wanted.

Just finished the first session on a full sleeve tattoo and cave up done by Chris Ford at Studio 617 Tattoos, and wow—what an incredible experience from start to finish! I was a bit nervous going in since it has been over a decade since my last tattoo, but Chris immediately put me at ease with his chill, professional vibe and genuine interest in bringing my idea to life. He took the time to really listen, sketch out a custom design that was even better than what I had in mind, and explained everything clearly. The shop itself is super clean, welcoming, and has that perfect tattoo parlor energy without feeling intimidating. Chris's work is top-tier—sharp lines, flawless shading, and insane detail that pops. It's healed beautifully already, and I'm getting compliments nonstop. If you're looking for an artist who treats every piece like a masterpiece and makes the whole process fun and comfortable, book with Chris at Studio 617. Hands down one of the best decisions I've made—worth every penny and then some! Highly recommend—can't wait to go back for the next session!

In the last 5 years I’ve had 2 full arm sleeves, chest, most of leg sleeve on right leg and part of leg sleeve on left leg completed at Studio 617. Kris Ford has done my black and grey work, Michael Clester has done my color. My right arm and right upper chest is Pirates of the Caribbean, my left arm and left upper chest is Star Wars themed. My Right leg is reimagined realistic Disney Villians, My left calf sleeve is my favorite versions of Mickey Mouse (they are my color pieces). I’ve spent over 130 hours in their artist chairs and I’ve traveled with them to have work done at conventions. We have won numerous awards off the tattoos on my body by these artists! Studio 617 is easily the best tattoo shop and collective of artists in East TN and one of the best in the south (as proven by their track record of winning at conventions and competitions when their work is put up against other great artists and judged by their peers. Kris listened to my vision in the beginning of each tattoo idea or sleeve idea do then he came up with the designs and layouts. I learned very quickly to give him some basic idea or direction of things i like or what i might like and allow him creative freedom to design and deliver something amazing! After getting to know me, he came up with the idea for our theme for my right leg on his own based on his history and knowledge of my likes and interest and to be honest, those tattoos have become my favorite on my body. Michael is easily the best color artist in the area in my opinion. His work with Pop Culture and Horror are amazing and the designs and layout he’s done for my Mickeys is incredible. I cannot wait to get started with the next part of that project in a couple of weeks. Tattoos are on your body permanently, to me it only makes sense to make sure that the people putting things on your body know what they are doing and have a proven track record and portfolio of delivering on what you are wanting. Good art is worth the wait and money. Not only would i recommend the studio to my friends and family, i recommend them all the time to anyone i get the chance to talk to about them! They are the best!
