I’m so glad I discovered Thomas West — I’m completely hooked. From the minute you walk in, they greet you, take your coat, and offer you something to drink. You’re welcomed warmly and made to feel genuinely taken care of. I’ve had multiple haircuts with Jessica, and she’s incredibly consistent. She pays attention to detail and really understands what I’m looking for every time. I also had a keratin treatment with Dayna, and the results were amazing. She walked me through the process, made sure my hair was protected, and it left my hair noticeably smoother, healthier, and so much more manageable. Between the quality of the services and the way you’re treated while you’re there, it’s the kind of place you want to keep coming back to. If you’re in Chicago, I truly couldn’t recommend Thomas West more.

Blake did such an amazing job! His technique and attention to detail are truly hair magic. I’ve been coming here for about four years, and I’ve never been disappointed. Every visit, we come up with new ideas and recommendations together haircuts or highlights style, and my hair always ends up looking fresh and different—like a brand-new canvas each time. I constantly get compliments on my hair, and it’s all thanks to Blake’s dedication, patience, and passion for what he does. You can really feel the care he puts into his work. I highly recommend Blake as a hairstylist to anyone trying to decide where to book. You won’t be disappointed!

After almost a month since my appointment, I’m still in awe of the transformation Kenrik pulled off ✨ I booked fairly last minute and originally scheduled a balayage, but once we evaluated the condition of my hair… black box-dyed for almost two years 🙈… it was safe to say we needed a different approach. Even though I walked in expecting to spend between $300–$400 and ultimately ended up investing more than I planned, I left feeling completely at peace with it 💆🏻‍♀️💖 The result was EXACTLY what I hoped for, maybe even better, and absolutely the right step forward. Hair health is extremely important to me, and he made sure that was the priority from start to finish. Kenrik took the time to truly listen, assess the damage, and think through the safest, smartest process instead of rushing or doing anything that would compromise my hair. That alone earned my full trust 🤍 The time, money, and nerves that come with letting someone new color my hair were absolutely worth it. Kenrik is phenomenal 🙌🏼 talented, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in the outcome ✂️✨ He may be early in his career, but he carries himself like someone with a long, successful future ahead. I can’t wait to sit in his chair again and see where his journey takes him… but even more, where he takes my hair 💫 Highly recommend Kenrik for anything involving a color correction, styling, or a cut ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (On a side note, the views from the Thomas West Salon were amazing and the staff was incredible from start to finish…I’m really looking forward to future appointments in their studio! 💈❣️🦄)

Alex Barnes did a WONDERFUL job at bleaching and cutting my black hair. I wanted a wolfcut with the lightest blonde color I can achieve with some previous color on my ends. She did a beautiful job at explaining all my color and cut options from the beginning and guided me through the whole 3-4 hour process. Although I knew my ends may not lighten the same color as my virgin roots due to previous color on them, Alex and I didn't anticipate how beautiful the pinker ends blended well into my blonde which she created with a round of bleach and toner. The wolfcut and curtain bangs tied up the look very well at the end and I feel so cool and cute with my new hair. Thank you Alex.

I can’t believe I’m writing a review, but I had to. My experience at Thomas West was an absolute 10/10. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. I’ve tried many hair salons in Chicago and often felt out of place, but Thomas West was truly different. Everyone was so nice and actually cared about how your day was going! They LISTENED!! They really listened to my concerns and understood my goals, especially since I’m prepping my hair for my wedding. I want my hair to look its absolute best, and they got it. I saw Alex, and she was wonderful, great conversation and, most importantly, she truly knows how to cut curly hair. As a curly girl, it’s hard to explain how anxious it can be finding someone who can make your hair look amazing both curly and straight. Alex has that skill. I’ll absolutely be back to see her, and I can’t recommend her (and Thomas West) enough.
