Top Nails on Ash and NW Blvd is literally a small "mom and pop" shop. If you want to support small businesses, go here. I'm not much on the big nail salons that pump you in and out like cattle and the whole place is always talking in a different language to each other and they truly dont care about you, it's all fake to me and $$ is the only focus. I really enjoy going to this specific nail salon, as I'm really just a no frills, working person, who can't wear long nails and I'm like a lot of people...on a budget most of the time. I tried a lot of nail places trying to find a salon that was close to home, reasonably priced, and friendly to Me. Their prices are reasonable (posted on the wall), they are always very pleasant, they will actually talk with you (if you are chatty lol), and if you come back they actually recognize you and ask how your family is doing or how work is going. The "mom and pop" of the shop know my name, what sports team I watch, my kids are in school, my work life... we actually have a good conversation... and vice versa about their kids in school or in sports etc. They have had other young people come work there too, always observing and learning... but it truly is the husband and wife who are your main people there everyday. Their salon is always kept clean, typically very easy to walk in for service depending on the time of day, but you can call ahead for appt too. And when it's a busy time there might be a little wait as they don't carry a huge staff, but they do have a good loyal customer base. They are always very caring of the older folks who need a little extra attention. They have lots of options for nail styles, I typically always do gel, and I like gel nails on my toes so they last longer. If you want the upgraded pedicures, they can do them too. I have been going to this nail salon for probably 10 years regularly ever since I gave them a try, and when I go to a different place because the other person I'm wants to go elsewhere, im never really happy with the service or experience and I end up paying more than I can afford with a very "i don't belong" feeling. I feel like im cheating on my little salon, and I always come running back as soon as I can to have a more pleasant experience with My Top Nails salon.
