I had my first haircut in over a year. I was nervous because my last haircut was a terrible experience. Amanda was not only but talk explained everything she was doing to my hair. She brought my hair back to life and gives an amazing scalp treatment! Amanda has very welcoming, comforting vibe! I recommend going to her!

Uptown Curl: Hands down the BEST place for hair. I cannot say enough good things about UpTown Curl!!!!! I found this salon a few years ago--after waiting my entire life to find a place that could make my curly hair look beautiful. I have so many positive things to say about it (and the owner and all the staff we have experienced and observed--havent had a stylist we didnt like), but right now I want to specifically talk about stylist Amanda Higgins (St. Paul location.) My first experience with Amanda was when I brought my teen daughters (and one of their friends) for haircuts/styles--they have straight and wavy hair, I have curly hair. Amanda is SO friendly, and SO talented! She talks TO the client and gives them SO much attention. She listens and completely engages. She can touch hair and tell you what shampoo to use, what color/style would look best on a person, and watching her with a scissors is impressive (like magic.) If she has multiple clients (like when my daughter has a long appointment for a cut/color) she has this amazing ability to multi task and give multiple clients her full attention and make them all feel heard and comfortable. She is an incredibly talented artist through and through. I also think Amanda actually has a photographic memory. . . Brought one on my daughters to her a YEAR after our first appointment with her, and she remembered EVERYTHING having only met us once before. She remembered everything about my OTHER daughter AND her friend who were not with us the second time. She didn't just remember everything about their hair, but also everything about the conversations they had while she was cutting their hair. A YEAR LATER! Amanda's knowledge, talent, experience, professionalism, customer service, and friendliness is second to none. Her work never disappoints. Lots of teens at my daughter's school dye their hair blonde at salons. My daughter has the reputation of having the best blonde color. People compliment and ask about it all the time. I know it's because of Amanda and her talent. I honestly believe Amanda is truly doing God's work--making people look and feel beautiful!!!! Giving people confidence. We live 2 hours away from UpTown Curl, but the distance and the price is SO WORTH IT! I won't go anywhere else. UpTown Curl is where magic happens.

I had Amanda Higgins and she was AMAZING, she worked literally magic on my hair she was very helpful and understanding when I came in my hair was discolored and damaged from my hard water so she took the extra couple of hours to revive my hair. I had the best experience in her chair and will definitely be traveling the 4 hours back.
