The technicians at Westlake Nails Spa are, quite honestly, magicians. This is based on repeated firsthand experience and watching them calmly handle situations that would derail most salons. Important note: these comments reference booked appointments -- I cannot speak for walk-ins! * You want an intricate design with chrome, 3D elements, and a different look on every nail—with zero notice before your appointment? Somehow, they bend time and space and get it done beautifully and fast. * The global supply chain is a mess and the usual product for ombré is back-ordered? No problem. Your tech quietly shifts into problem-solving mode, consults senior staff, and executes an old-school ombré method that takes more skill, time, and precision, without charging you extra. * Prices are about to increase due to tariffs or supply issues? They’ll tell you in advance, at least one visit beforehand, so you’re not blindsided. * You’re a difficult client (we’ve all seen it happen) and the situation is getting uncomfortable? These techs somehow double as social workers. With monk-level patience and grace, they still send you out the door with great nails. * You’re getting engaged or married? They won’t take shortcuts. If you want your natural nails painted instead of Gel-X (as I did), they’ll do it—and then literally photograph your hand from multiple angles to make sure it looks perfect in close-ups, with zero light or reflection distortion. A few additional things worth noting: * They never upsell. If your desired length doesn’t require hard gel, they’ll tell you. If they notice breakage, they’ll recommend a stronger option—even if it’s less profitable. * They have both male and female technicians, and if you have strong preferences for any reason (including trauma or religious beliefs), you can let them know ahead of time to avoid delays. * My husband and I both get maintenance manicures and pedicures, and they absolutely do not phone it in for him just because he’s a guy or not getting polish. * I routinely catch myself staring at other clients’ nails because they’re that good. Their only goal is to get you out the door looking great, and the level of skill and care here is unmatched by any other salon I’ve been to in San Francisco. They prioritize quality and reputation above all else—and that’s hard to find these days. TL;DR: The techs at Westlake Nails Spa are professionals delivering truly premium service. Be clear when booking about what you want—intricate designs, French, 3D, or growing out your natural nails—and they’ll match you with the right expert. Not everyone does every technique, but management makes sure you’re paired with the perfect person. If this^ is what they can do with no prep, imagine what they can do with great upfront communication. And above all: be kind to your technician. Your nail goals are their goals, and they give every client their full effort.

Visiting my boo from NYC and noticed this was the highest rated nail salon in the area. I called in to see if they could fix a severely broken nail. They accommodated me in the same day and did a great job! They were even able to find the matching base color AND red sparkly cat-eye polish from my go-to shop in Brooklyn. Attached a photo of the final result as you can't even tell which one was repaired today. Truly phenomenal service & professionalism. My partner even commented on how this was the nicest nail salon he's ever seen, smells really nice and is very clean/organized. Definitely want to come back if time permits for a full mani/pedi. Thank you again!!!!

Everyone is always very attentive and nice. This is my 2nd time there, Dallas helped me. The 1st time Dong did my nails. My nails didnt lift in over 3 weeks. Many people complimented my nails. I carried on with life - cleaning/scrubbing/gardening and of course, work... My nails were perfect!!! I am very, very happy so far!
