The last time I called to make an appointment, I was hung up on by a woman named Helen who was apparently insulted because I wanted one of the other barbers to cut my hair instead of her, because i wasn't real happy with the haircut she had previously given me (although I didn't tell her that). I've been going to the William Byrd for years because it use to be really good, but as is the current trend in Richmond, the old timers have retired or died off, and it's a different crew, now. I give it four stars because the few other barbers still there do acceptable work, and the place was so good for many years, but hanging the phone up in a regular customer's face is unacceptable, for ANY reason. Goodbye, William Byrd Barber Shop.
