The Banyan Tree Tattoo is such a great atmosphere! The shop is clean, positive energy from all the staff and Darnell is absolutely AMAZING!! She is so talented in fine line tattoos and she takes pride in her work. She guided my mom and I on a much more artistic approach for the tattoo we wanted to honor my Dad and it turned out so beautiful! We are very grateful for her knowledge and skill set. Highly recommend this tattoo shop if you want quality work with artists who care! Mahalo 🤙🏼

From the initial contact over text, to the in person session, everything from Banyan Tree was top notch!. My new wife and I were spending our honeymoon in Maui and knew we wanted some ink to commemorate. We emailed the shop months ago to express what we wanted and get matched with the right artists. My wife worked with Ai Mi (she will be posting her own review) and I had the pleasure of working with Ryan for a large poly calf piece. Ryan is the ultimate professional and an amazing artist. He is also a really nice guy! After pounding in some super thick outlines for about 2.5 hours, I was at the point of tapping out (not new to tattooing but this spot and the level of detail were a lot). Ai Mi took a moment to step away from her client (my wife) and give an assist to Ryan with a little of the numbing spray. An absolute lifesaver!!! I don't know if I could have sat for the full 5-6 hours if not for that. I apologized to Ryan profusely for my poor tolerance this day, and the involuntary ankle twitching that must have made it feel like he was tattooing a breakdancer. He just locked in, held me in place, and delivered an amazing piece of art that was everything I wanted and more. All the time smiling and reassuring me that it was all just part of the experience. If you guys want the real deal in art and tattooing when you come to Maui.... check these guys out. The art, the work, the entire vibe is what tattooing is all about.

Banyan team were able to fit me in with short window to get it done before leaving the islands. I was set up with Spike for a sweet tribal turtle tattoo that I found on Pinterest. It literally was his artwork, so we knew the planets had aligned. His line work and filling was on point and met all expectations. He sings pretty damn good too and loves to turn up the volume. This place was hopping with many artists, all doing great work from what I could sneak peek at. Highly recommend!
